About catstitches

In december 2013 I came accross a crochet package in a local store. The package contained a pattern to make a cat, wool, filling and felt for the back of the cuddly toy. I decided to buy it. When I was a little girl, we learned how to crochet and to knit in school. I was a disaster at knitting (I always dropped stitches…), but I was quite good at crochet work. The idea of being able to make something for my daughter, who was 3 at that time, appelaed to me. At first I couldn’t even figure out how to start. Lucky, my mum was able to refresh the basics for me. So I started working…

My first creation

And this is how my first creation turned out to be. Not exactly a masterpiece šŸ™‚ But I didn’t give up on it, and I got better.

After a while I started blogging about my creations. After crochet, I discovered I also love making items on my sewing machine and more recently I discovered needle punching. Learning how to knit is also on my plan for this winter!

The idea of having a little online shop to sell some of my work began to grow. Not to make money out of it (handmade items cost so much time, you can never make a living out of this!), but just for the fun of being able to make somebody else happy with a creation I made. I decided to start selling my items for a good cause. On the page about Cat shelter Waasland you can read more about this, and why I’ve chosen them…

Have fun browsing around!

  1. Hey auntie!

Never seen this cute first attempt of yours! I know it’s not your best, but I actually love how cuddly it looks! You still have it?
