In december 2013 I came accross a crochet package in a local store. The package contained a pattern to make a cat, wool, filling and felt for the back of the cuddly toy. I decided to buy it. When I was a little girl, we learned how to crochet and to knit in school. I was a disaster at knitting (I always dropped stitches…), but I was quite good at crochet work.
At first I couldn’t even figure out how to start. Lucky, my mum was able to refresh the basics for me. So I started working…
And this is how my first creation turned out to be. Not exactly a masterpiece 🙂 But I didn’t give up on it. We are now about 4 months later and I’ve been practising a lot. I think I pick up my hook at least 4 or 5 evenings a week. I’ve also been giving some lessons to kids at school, which has been great.
The idea for this blog grew out of all of that. I had a great time reading blogs about crochet and they all helped me out a lot in getting better in what I do. I also have a lot of fun teaching the kids at school how to work. And this little cat proofs that you don’t have to give up at a first somewhat failed attempt. You WILL get better. I promise.
